Battery Adapter

Bridges standard batteries into the LF PowerGrid network.

Overview

The Battery Adapter is a passthrough integration device that bridges vanilla DayZ batteries (CarBattery and TruckBattery) into the LF PowerGrid network. It converts standard battery energy into the u/s (units per second) format used by the grid system, enabling seamless integration of existing vanilla batteries without requiring full UPS or Substation infrastructure.

Supported Battery Types

CarBattery

  • Capacity: 500 → 1,000 LFPG units
  • Charge Rate: 15 u/s
  • Discharge Rate: 20 u/s
  • Max Output: 40 u/s

TruckBattery

  • Capacity: 1,500 → 3,000 LFPG units

How It Works

The Battery Adapter accepts standard DayZ batteries (CarBattery or TruckBattery) as attachments and exposes them to the LF PowerGrid system. The adapter maintains 92% efficiency while converting battery charge to grid units, with minimal self-discharge (0.0005 u/tick). Power flows through the device in both directions: input allows external sources to charge the battery, and output distributes power downstream to grid devices.

Tips

  • CarBattery is lighter but lower capacity — ideal for small bases and early game
  • TruckBattery holds 3x more energy but requires more battery weight — better for large bases
  • 92% efficiency means some energy is lost; minimize use in tight power budgets
  • Self-discharge is negligible (0.0005 u/tick) — batteries retain charge when unplugged
  • Upgrade to UPS or Battery Large for native grid batteries with better efficiency
  • Use as a transitional solution while building core power infrastructure
